Microsoft Office 2010

We just talked about Microsoft 2007 earlier, now I would like to share that Microsoft is coming up with Microsoft 2010 this year. It is the latest technology in office word, excel, e-mail. It is presumed that product will be widely available in June 2010. They are planning to launch this product in the value range of $99 to $ 499 the company said in the blog posting. Microsoft is planning to attract more customers by providing this product cheaper to their customer.

Lets talk about the Blackberry Storm

If you are on the Verizon network then you should take the time and check out the Blackberry Storm. If you have never used a Blackberry before then expect a life changing moment that will forever change your life.  The Blackberry Storm may not be on par with Apple IPhone but the cell phone is still the most appropriate to support business people. Like the IPhone, the Blackberry has an abundance of applications that are available from you can choose from. On my Blackberry, my favorite application that I am currently using is the Bing app. The Bing application allows me to do searches, get driving directions, and find the closest restaurants that are closest to me. The Blackberry is GPS activated, so you can get a map to show where you are anywhere in the world. The screen of the cellular phone is quite large and is sensitive to touch. You can push the screen down, and you can feel the pressure of the screen. This is a useful feature when you are texting to your friends or colleagues for accurate messaging. The Blackberry also has built in email software that allows you to manage all of your email accounts. If you are like me and have about 3 or more email accounts then this feature is great. Overall, the Storm is the way to go if you are a business user.

Lets Talk about Microsoft Office

Microsoft Office has been around for a long time and is the market leader in Office applications. Microsoft Corporation developed desktop applications to support the end user in developing documents to support business or personal use.  There are many products and releases of the Microsoft Office Suite.  Some of the notable applications that are included in Microsoft Office 2007 edition are:

Word
Is the most used application of the entire office suite. Microsoft Word allows you to create simple office documents without much skill and can be created very easily. Most people use word to write articles, documents, messages, school work, reports, and anything else you may think of. This application supports many different types of fonts, text sizes, and has built in html formatting.

Excel
Most business communicate with each other through numbers. The beauty about excel is that it is a two dimensional spreadsheet that is divided into rows and columns that allows you to store data. The data can be numerical, alphanumeric, dates, or anything you want. You can roll up data in groupings, do statistical analysis using functions, or almost anything you can think of. This is probably the most important application that any business can use.

Visio
The first thing that I have to say is that "I love Visio". I use Visio to to build process maps, data flow diagrams, flow charts, and organizational charts. This is a must have tool for any one involved in Business Process Engineering.

Outlook
This is a must have application for small businesses. This is a front end tool that allows you to download emails from the server and store all messages on to your local desktop. The software is great in managing emails, who sent the email, who you sent emails to, date sent, and relative importance.

Power Point
If you do a lot of presentations at the office or need to do a presentation for school, you would want to pick up a copy of power point. This software allows you to build presentations through designing slides that allow you to communicate your message to your audience. You can use animations, sounds, templates, or what ever you want. This is a very important tool for any future managers.

Project
Microsoft Project is the leader in managing project deliverables, milestones, resources, and network maps. There is currently no other application that is close in providing the same type of functionality of Project.

Lets Talk about Bing

The first thing that you will notice about this new search engine is the name "Bing". The name grabs you and captures your attention. We do find it quite amazing to see the progress that Microsoft has made in the search engine market. With the fresh design, strong algorithm to support accurate searches, and commercials to build the brand; this seems to be a great innovative time for Microsoft. We can only hope for future innovations from Microsoft that would capture our imagination like Bing.

Lets Talk about Oracle

Oracle is a software company that provides abundance of services, perhaps the best product that they are known for are databases. Oracle is famous for providing relational databases to consumers in their efforts to help organizations manage their data and understand their information. There latest release is Oracle 11g release 2. Oracle is the market leader in all things that are databases and they are constantly acquiring several companies and integrating them in their Oracle Fusion catalog. Some of the companies that they have bought out are People Soft, Hyperion, Siebel, and Sun Microsystems to name a few. If you are looking for a database for your enterprise, do not look any further and pick up an Oracle database.

Lets Talk about Adsense

Google is number one for a reason and that is not only because I am the biggest Sergey Brin and Larry Page fan or that I volunteered to write a paper on these two great innovators for my MBA class. Google started a program to help webmasters publish Ads from advertisers looking to market their products on publisher's website. The process consist of registering for an account with Google Adsense and then getting an email to confirm your account and then you are ready to go. Simple. Now that you have registered for an Adsense account, there are a lot of options available for you to earn revenue. The first thing is that you need to do is you need to know your audience. After you understand the demographics of who you will be catering to, Google provides options that allow you to filter based on market segments. To get Ads to display on your website, copy and past the javascript code into your web page. You may need to know some very basic html to get your code inserted into your site but usually goes in the body tag of your page. Best of luck with your success with Google Adsense and your journey in the E-commerce market.

Lets Talk about Yahoo Domains

Yahoo has a website dedicated to helping small business get online and provide services to their customers. Some of the services that they provide to customers are domain registration, forwarding domains, web hosting, email, and e-commerce services, and standard web templates. To reserve a domain name in Yahoo is about 10 bucks. The price is reasonable and on par with other domain registrars that offer similar services. To reserve hosting space with Yahoo, they offer $8.00 per month for a 1 year term. What I like about Yahoo is that they have been around for a long time and they are a professional service provider. They are experienced, honest, and provide great customer service in helping people with any issues that they may have with server uptime. Yahoo offers 99.9% uptime, check them out I think they should be an option to consider when you are looking for opportunities to join the E-Commerce, Web 2.0 world.
